Get Over It
Raise your hand if you've gone a day without taking at least one selfie.
Hmm. Not many.
Ok, so how many of you have taken a selfie and gotten it right on the first try? Even fewer. You don't like this, the lighting is bad, your eye looks weird...whatever it may be, you take picture after picture and many of them end up in the trash.
Step #1 in becoming a lifestyle model is...Get over it.
STOP with the negative self-talk. The next time you look at a picture of yourself, try saying something nice.
I know this sounds trivial but in reality, it's HUGE.
It will help you get better. It will help you understand your strengths and weaknesses.

You see, lifestyle modeling involves portraying life as it happens in different of scenarios.
Here's an example: you're modeling for a new luxury condo building in Palm Beach, Florida. You're being placed in scenes where you are enjoying wine, sitting on a beach, swimming in a pool. All kinds of 'luxury' life stuff.
If you're so consumed with your wonky eye or how much you hate your right ear, you won't be able to focus on drinking or swimming or smiling or laughing, all of which are the job requirements of a lifestyle model.
All of the un-com-fort-able-ness you feel about yourself will show on camera.
So my advice to you...simple. Get over it. This step, by the way, is one of the hardest. Once you have it mastered, come back and visit me here and we'll get down to work.
